Anyone received a replacement clip from Spyerco? Did you pay for it or did they just drop one in the mail? I'm just curious because I lost one (the aluminum barrel must have been loose and it was gone, glad I didn't loose the knife).

I got an email saying a new one would be 5-8 dollars. I'm not complaining as I was in control of it when it was lost but $8 is almost 20% of the knife. I know both Benchmade and Kershaw have dropped small parts in the mail for free without me asking them to. I know I don't deserve one for free but $2 seems more inline for a stamped piece of metal and to drop it in an envelop and send it out.

So I guess this is a roundabout way of asking who has the best customer service? I'm thinking I will put the money towards an AXIS lock knife that I have been wanting for awhile...

Thanks for any thoughts or comments.

I paid for a few and $5-8 sounds about right, but I ordered three and they weren't needed replacements.

i've gotten a replacement clip from spyderco before. for 5 dollars they cut the FRN clip from my dragonfly, drilled and tapped, and installed a brand new metal clip. i found spyderco's customer service to be quick and top notch.

I ordered a couple of Bryd knives and they didn't have the type of clips that I liked. The steel handle ones, I loved, but I hated the FRN clips. I got a little bit of a run around saying to send an e-mail to some other department which now, I don't think existed. So I sent a message to Sal and he got things rolling and they sent me 3 new clips that would fit the Bryd knives from a discontinued model for free! Now they work perfectly and I would recommend Spyderco to anyone. THANKS SAL!!!

Once I spoke to the correct person on the phone I ordered 4 replacement clips for a Kopa, they were about $5 a piece. I was very pleased with their customer service.
