Hi,

Rob Brown is a South African maker, and he seems to be doing outstanding work (his site kicks butts: www.robbrownknives.co.za.) If anyone has had an experience with this maker, from a customer's point of view, I would love to get their impressions. Feel free to e-mail me at joss_d@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

JD

Joss, I'm sorry to say I don't have a knife from Rob Brown I just discovered his website the other day, and you're right. His stuff looks amazing. I particularly like his Fairbairn/Sykes knives and his California Dirk, but I didn't see a knife on his site that I didn't like.

Rob, is going on My Short List of makers that I need to get some knives from. Until then I'm going to make regular visits to his site just to drool.

I don't have any experience as a customer...but I've been looking at his site as well. From a maker's perspective, let me say that he is doing outstanding work at SUPER low prices.

I highly recommend that you guys read his tutorials on his site. He goes through all the required steps and then some to creat those fabulous knives.

He obviously has borrowed a style, but I bet the knives are far superior in craftsmanship than those they are akin to.

Let us know if you buy from him :)

Nick

I do not know him, Phil sent me his link the other day and Coop posted it on TKCL. His work is impressive to say the least.

From what I have seen, I would not hesitate. I have a feeling he is about to get real busy.
(meaning I agree with Nick too :).
