It looks to me a better utility blade shape than the emerson version. any comments?

Haven't played with it, but I wouldn't expect to much from it. It doesn't give a steel type, but I'm posative that's 420. It's a Magnum which is a shisty end that has to do with Boker some how. They have something similar to it on the back of their catalog for $21. Unless this knife meets your needs as far as carry method or grip, just pass over it. Not quality.

The blade shape is similar to the original La Griffe as developed by Fred Perrin. Ernie Emerson changed the original shape to a hawksbill for defensive rather than uitility purposes.
