I've owned and sold a couple of Black Paper handled Busses, but never used one very much -- mostly rougher-textured canvas Micarta for that.

For those of you that have Black Paper users, what's it like over time? Slippery or grips pretty well? Takes abuse and holds up?

Thanks,
John

They hold up well. Mine got shiny and a little faded to brown in one spot. I used them every day, and they were solid.

It holds up fine functionally, but long term it is a gamble cosmetically. It kind of feels like warmer, lighter G10 with a decent grippiness to it, even when wet.

This TGLB is still new enough that none of the cosmetic stuff has shown up yet, but I much prefer the hand smoothed tigerhide on the other TG for barehanded use.

One of my favorite users is BP. I've beat on her like a red-headed stepchild and you would never know it from looking at her. Just do it, man...you know you want to!

My opinion is that it is less grippy than linen micarta, but more grippy than G10.

In use I've not noticed any difference between the three in durability.

Of the three, I prefer linen micarta because it's warm to the touch and the most grippy of the three.

I do love it in hand. Feels great. My user is a light user. CABS, so it is not of the size that would see serious use. No chopping, just slicing and whittling and cutting. Old black paper seems to lighten and yellow/green up. It reminds me of liquorice.

Holds up just fine IMO. I never notice much difference in handles. Unless its res c most of the scales Busse offers are pretty similar in feel.

My blk paper users are not very old. RMD that I used notably to minimize last years X-Mas tree (after the holidays) and an EDC MBC.

Not a lot of evident wear, if any on either. Yes, paper feels more slippery than G10 and certainly is less grippy than canvas micarta. The texturing machined into the grips helps a lot to aid in grip.

Black Paper's not big enough of a detractor to be a complete turn off on the NMFSHLE.

I also have it on two knives that I don't think I've used yet. At least I don't recall using them. A pair of RMD LEs.

I'm a fan of the look and feel of black paper.
