Is it easy to open?
I have an arthritic thumb and a lot of straight handle shapes are hard to open slowly.
They'll snap open with a quick flip, but don't open slowly.

Other than that, are there any other issues I should know about?
I guess the CPM-154 is good.

Thanks.

I have an sd-3, the bigger brother to the sd2.

If you ask me it is a bloody home run. I found it easy to open for what it is worth.

Same here. I have the SD-3 and it has impressed me! It takes a minute to get the hang of it but you can flick it out fairly easy due to the ball bearing washers. One my favorite purchases of 2017.

I am ...HOPING... it isn't like the Wm Henry ones that MUST be vigorously FLICKED as they refuse to open slowly with just thumb...pressure.

Hope it won't be a return.

So it will open with the thumbdisk, however I am so conditioned to Spyder Holes that studs and disks feel akward to me. I found the a quick flick of the thumb straight out (not up) sent the blade flying.

That's what I'm afraid of.
My thumb likes to move it out away from the handle without sudden and hard motion.

We'll see.

The Wm Henry I have takes that STRAIGHT forward movement and so I don't carry it.

Lemme see if I can get a picture on here from my new computer.
Windows 10 ain't as easy as W7

I am VERY pleased with the serrations. :)

You might want to consider it for your SD3, Matt.
It's awful expensive though. $6 labor and $8 shipping.:D:D

Kelley's Cutlery in Modesto, CA.

I've had them do quite a lot of work on my knives.
You might also try the SD2 and see how cool the shorter (not much shorter) one works for you.
