I've been on the hunt for a counter/dresser display case that I can use to both display and lock my knives in but am having issues finding one. I've seen a few retailer benchmade cases but nothing else. Anyone have any pics of their displayed Hinderers or knives in general or know where/what to search for such a case? I'm looking for one that has a few levels way can show off quite a few.

Probably best bet is find a custom cabinet maker and let your imagination (and wallet) take over.

just finished a custom wall mounted knife display cabinet - photoshooting was today

photos soon

massive oak panel construction / lockable / seamless security glass front door / led lighting system / dedicated knife attachment system

not to blow my horn but... it is gonna be awesome! :D

sorry for the tease pic

Lol at the speakers comment.

Awaiting pics. I've thought about cutting custom foam base to line with a felt or other material but then if wanted to carry that model there would be an empty space which would totally bother my OCD.

My biggest hobby is home theater. Lieterally have a real theater here at home followed by a sports bar and lobby which I showcase memorabilia so am accustomed to displaying stuff and would like to display my Hinderer's/other knives but have them sucure from the children.

Keeping the beauties locked away in the safe just doesn't feel right since I like seeing them but the search for a dresser/counter display is rather tough. May just have to settle on making a hanging piece although that is my last resort option.

Honestly, You may want to consider a Humidor for a "knife display case". Probably a lot more variety and size to choose from.

as for some hinderer content - i designed the folder attachments especially around the 3,5 xm18 :D

...ok i will haul it over from the stereo room to the surround room take another photo to show off my humble b&w700 series setup :D

Alford78 - what makes you prefer a counter/dresser over a wall mounted solution?

i just saw some kind of jewelry box - dont know - should be able to find lockable ones... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1249794-Knife-storage-what-do-you-guys-use/page3

Mainly the method in which they need to be held in the case if it's against a wall. And then there is the chance that the knife I'm switching out to carry doesn't fit where the one I'm putting in. Some very clever fastening techniques could eliminate this concern I suppose. If they are laying flat they can be oriented in any manner and switched out without worries.

Yeah. That case pops up on google search and isn't bad but only a couple "closed" folders can be seen in top drawer.

That's not a bad idea at all! I think watch cases will be too small.

(Nothing like a 13' wide AT screen with 4k Sony VW1100 ;-) and ten 21" subs powered by LG amps)

it took quite some time but i am almost* satisfied with my solution :D - i cant wait to receive the pics from my photographer

Well they can move at a snails pace as my wife is constantly complaining about ours from what seems like never ending sessions with our children. Sad thing is we bought a camera for ourself 4 years ago as our wedding gift to one another and she is just now starting to learn photoshop. She's getting good and hopefully we can cut out the photographer soon. It's not expensive to have her come shoot the kids but scheduling and waiting for her to get the pics completed can be a headache.

Will patiently wait to see these "Hinderer" attachments and case. Kind of exciting really as I literally went through the photo thread yesterday and it blew my mind for a few hours lol.

I think the humidor will give me some great ideas to either make one or give me ideas to create a drawing in auto cad to give to a cabinet maker. They really come in a lot of styles and sizes but will be paying a lot for its mechanical properties; although, some are very finely crafted and could be more visually appealing than what most cabinet makers can pull off for such a small job. They just couldn't justify the price of a one off piece now days I wouldn't think but maybe some Amish or Mennonites could help me out as they are all around here in western KY.

I like that too cakes. That would be fine for somewhere other than bedroom. That would work for the shop or bar for sure and is large enough to hold random stuff.

Mind sharing what it is or where it came from?

And the playoff curse almost got the Cowboys last weekend!!!! I've been a fan for 25+ years.

Ehhhhhhh dont even talk about the cowboys! You'll jinx it! I was watching the game and as soon as I turned it off they won so I won't watch for the rest of the year lol. That case is from IKEA and I love it. 200$. I dont know if you can get the size perspective from the pics either.
