Anyone have a line on "Tenex" snaps?

Having robed a snap for a sheath I was finishing from my Farrier apron, I found I really like the feel of it! As it takes an extra trick to open it, there is no way that brush could pop the knife out while carrying

The donner apron is made in England by a Gibbens, and the snaps are stamped "TENEX" registered, Made In England ,

Any lead would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

CVF , what is the "extra trick" that it takes to open ? I am not real crazy about the line 20 & 24 snaps that are out there. I don't think they are as secure as they should be either and am interested in something better too. ESPY, I couldn't get your links to work , could be me ??

You need to pull the top of the fastener to disengage.

No problem here with the links - they're cut & pasted too, so no room for typos.

ESpy & Tommegow it had to be something on my end.The links all work for me now too. Those are definately going into my Sheath Making Supplies. A little pricey but very secure which IMHO is worth the x-tra $$ . What would be your choice for peg style on a leather sheath , the "Fabric Clinching Peg w/ Locking washer" ; "Canvas Peg w/Clinching Nut" or one of the others ?? Good looking Hardware......Thanks

Thank You for the links ESpy!

That was very kind to post the sites, now I'm hooked -up, just wish they were not so pricey, but worth every penny.

Cool web site! we bang on the same brand and style of anvil that's on your home-page.

As my Farrier apron came with the Canvas Peg, with a clinching nut, I think that is the choice for me, it is a little short , as with the snap in 12oz leather, but a slight squeeze and the threads will start.

As the snap is very secure, it would be clear that it's best place would be on an easy access sheath, like a hip or belt sheath. (you need 2, but 3 fingers work best for me to open)
