Been thinking about getting one, looks like it would be a good EDC(at least for me) and could handle most anything(boxes,rope,thugs..). Is this knife really as great as it sounds?

if ya get one DO NOT get the black blade coating - i have 2 MOD's and the coating on both looks like crappola after just a few months and NO hard use - there coating is no bueno imho.....not at all like REKATS, BM......

Great knife. I didn't leave home without mine. Too bad I lost it. I did lots, and lots of cutting with it. I will probably get another after the mourning period for my old one is over. BTW my black coating held up fine.

For the past 8 months or so Jim at MOD has been using Boron Carbide from Bodycote with great results. Prior to that all MOD knives had
Titanium Carbonitride (TiCn Blakti).

IFU1A, If you would like I can Recoat your MOD with Boron Carbide.
Just Email me for the address I would be happy to coat it at no
charge. The old coating can be removed, the only thing is the MOD
logo will be gone. If I can be of further help Email me your phone number and we can discuss it.

Thanks, y'all Is there any way to tell if it has Boron Carbide or Titanium Carbonitride coating?

You should be able to tell the difference between Boron Carbide and
Titanium Carbonitride. Boron Carbideis dark Gray anD Titanium Carbonitride is dark to Jet Black. Hope this will help.

What kind of coating do they use on the ball chain? I just received my Scorpion and just after wearing it around my neck for a couple of hours, the back of my neck is turning black!
