Here is an unsolicited tip from an old man. Don't go into debt over a knife. Take care of everything else first.

If you can just swing the $32 for a BK11 get one.

I fully understand this is the RAT forum,and this will ruffle a ton of RAT Pack feathers. But the BK11 will do everything the Izula will.

The BK11 in the below photo isn't pretty anymore. I beat the crap out of it before passing it on to my son (he is ten). And I would trust my,and more importantly, my son's life on it.

It cost far less than his two customs, but it will do.

I bought an Izula and an RC-3. The Izula lives in my bugout bag, it's the perfect backup survival knife. My RC-3 is a daily carry knife, it is just big enough but it is not heavy and slow like most "tactical" type knives, and it conceals well and carries easily.

I just ordered an RC-4 today to see if I like the thicker blade...
