i just wanted to hear if anyone has had any trouble getting stuff repaired under maxpeditions warranty.

I recently had a maxpedition single sheath which the cotton part where the velcro hooks to, decided it didnt want to work anymore, after being opened and closed over and over.

I called maxpedition to see about sending it in and was told it wasnt covered under warranty.
Kinda bullcrap.

Anyway lets hear your maxpedition repair stories.
Good and bad.

Thanks..

Never had any problems. Most warrentys do not cover normal wear and tear. How long have you had your sheath?

only had it about 6 months.

So what does there warranty actually cover?

Dat sucks. This is from Maxped's site.

"Maxpedition extends a limited lifetime warranty that our products are fully warranted to the original owner against manufacture’s defects for the lifetime of the product when the product is used for the purpose intended, under normal conditions, and does not apply to damages caused by typical wear and tear over time, the natural breakdown of colors, the materials over extended time and use, unreasonable use, improper care, modifications, alterations or negligence."

With only 6 months of use, I think you should be able to get it replaced if it was not abused.

no camera to take pics.

I found out there is a online store that has a shop that sells maxpedition gear which is about 20 minutes from me. Im gonna go pick up a new one in a few days.

It was my favorite sheath till that happened. Maybe I just got a bad one.

On the EDCforums.com and the Usual Suspects Forum people have really turned away from Maxpedition. Apparently the owner of the company can be a real jerk. He threatened a moderator at EDC and had shills posting for him saying among other things that people who do warranty returns are abusing the system.

He also supposedly did some jerky things at the Usual Suspect Network although I haven't been able to find the post. (You have to pay to search there)

I just bought a second bag but I wish I had found those posts before I spent the money. I don't think I like supporting a company like that.
