Rat-1 folder by Ontario, any good? I know there are better folders available, but it doesn't appear to be a bad knife for the money. I am looking for real user opinions about this knife. Good, bad or indifferent.

I have two of 'em, one black plain blade and one satin plain blade, both real solid knives, tight lock up, no blade play at all, fit my large hands perfectly, and these are two of the sharpest blades right out of the box I have ever seen, don't play with 'em much cause I don't want to bleed unnecessarily :D
I think they are great for the money, a little heavy for pocket carry, but well worth the money.

I don't have any experience with one but I do remember either on this board or on knifeforums there is a good review of one and the reviewer was very pleased with it. If memory serves the blade steel is aus 8 and it is made in taiwan. Looks to be a good knife, ahgar

I had one and they are awesome. Gave it up in a trade that was too good to pass up. Very sharp knife probably the sharpest I ever had except for my latest fav which is CPM154. You can't go wrong wish I had another and probably will get one.

i also have a rat-1 and am very pleased with it ! in fact it has been my edc all this week. i like that you can change the clip in four different locations on the knife. very sharp! i give it   .:)

After reading these responses I'm guessing it is not too bulky for EDC, how does the black blade finish hold up? Anything else I should consider?
