I know this should go in the wanted forum, but I think more actual makers will see it here.

I called Grizzly to order a grinder and they told me that there is a backorder of 6-8 weeks. I don't really want to wait that long, so i ask the following question:

Does anyone have a used grinder that they are willing to part with? It must be of high quality (no Craftsman please), be of at least 1HP, be in good shape and be a 2x72.

Payments will be made with M.O. (I can also throw some new knives in if you wish).

I would also like to hear from anyone if they have any grinder plans that actually work and don't cost more to build than to buy.

I built my own grinder several years ago. I went to a local shoe shop supplier and found an old backstand idler and a double shaft motor and ordered an 8 inch wheel. I then put together a grinder which served me very well for a long time. I still have this grinder today and I just ordered a new BIII grinder from Stephen Bader. I can send pictures or my grinder or e-mail them to you if you want to see what I did. Total cost was about $200 and it really works well.

I too would be interested in any plans, specs or pictures of your home built grinder.
My e-mail is mitchell@nssl.noaa.gov
