Im looking for a good EDC Congress but I like the thinner looking frame with square bolsters. The Winchesters look pretty good and they apparently have carbon steel blades.

Dave.......

The Winchester Congress knives in 4", 3 1/2" and the 3" are all Queen Cutlery built so if you've had S&M, Marbles, Robeson, Northwoods in the 3 1/2"-4" then you have an idea of size.....

Don't have the Congress but I did snag a Queen built Winchester stockman. Very nice knife

Thanks for the info. I wasnt aware that the Winchesters were Queen. That changes things. I have 3 queen knives (one is a huge Congress) and all three have some play in at least one blade.

I like the skinny old style Congress models.

If you change your mind about Queen here are a couple to consider.

This is not a fancy or expensive knife but I have used and abused the you know what out of it and it hangs in there:

Another that I can vouch for is the Case #34052:

Brad - both of those look pretty nice, but I really like the blade choices on that Case.

Simmons................

You're correct Bluegrass Cutlery licensed the rights to have Winchester knives built, though not having the facilities to actually build them contracted Queen Cutlery to do so for them.........and Dave, Brad has a good choice with the Case that's alot thinner than the Queen built knives....I can't speak for the RR since I haven't owned or handled one.

I missed the part where Dave said he like the thinner Congress's. The RR is big and carries big. Just a stout work horse. The Case on the other hand is thin and you hardly know it is in your pocket.

Here is another, a 64052, slightly older, 1970-79 era, where the yellow one is a newer, 1993-99 era. Slight differences, nail nicks, different coping, other blade profiles are slightly changed as well. Point being if you are picky both of these should be findable without too much effort. I have no clue what a new one looks like or if they even make it now.

I was looking at the new Case 4 blade Congress knife. The profile of the blades seem odd to me. They get really narrow near the kick. It looks off. The older Case Congress knives are great...just happen to be very spendy when you can find them.

You might want to try a half congress thats one i like to carry. I carry a large carbon steel queen half congress about every day. I dont know why they went to all stainless.

Just snagged this one off the bay....missed the part that said it was 4 1/2 inch closed! Banana in the pocket I guess but man aint it purdy!

Nice! That one's a beaut! Love that yellow bone. Let us know how you like it, when it arrives!

I think this is the one your looking for. It's 3 1/2 inches closed Queen made with carbon steel blades. The overall knife is thinner than a case 64052. Larry
