Anyone have a ZDP Mini Cyclone and a Small Sebenza?

If so, how do they compare? Not just in terms of fit&finish, but how each performs? By the looks, it appears that the Mini Cyclone might be a bit more stout. I've been EDCing a Small Seb for over a year now and it's a great knife, but I find it's not filling that want for a new knife lately. Also, I've always found the Seb to be less than stellar in terms of sharpness and edge retention. After I picked up the ZDP Caly-3, I was blown away by how sharp it is, but still would like a knife that's a bit more rugged. Based on its' looks and materials, the Mini Cyclone might fill that void. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

zdp mini cyclone is the best value at its price-thats my take

You're actually the person whom has me wanting one so bad. Based on your posts, you and I are fairly in-line on many subjects. By the looks, it appears more substantial than a Small Seb. Is that your take on it?

its not a sebenza-no bushing and has a 2 piece fastener to hold it together, the zdp is a screw threaded into the ti on other side- but its also 1/2 the price and zdp is a great heavy use edc blade steel-the slabs are thick ti like a sebenza-
fits my hand well-the blade blade coating takes a beating, ive abused mine quite a bit and it has no thru scratch's -

i didnt hesitate to sell my sebenza-the zdp aint going anyplace

I have one of each; they are both great knives. The ZDP mini cyclone is bigger, more stout, and heavier. It's heavy enough that it doesn't work well as an EDC in dress pants. The Sebenza is a little lighter, and is about the max size/weight I think is comfortable in dress slacks. Either works fine as an EDC in jeans. I can get a sharper edge on the ZDP mini cyclone, and I think it holds the edge a bit better than the sebenza (although I have no complaints about the sebenza). Both are great knives, but they are different enough that I don't think it is a 1:1 comparison.

That's pretty much what I was hoping to hear. I was looking for a knife that is just a bit more substantial than my Seb. Thanks.

I just got one today from the secondary market. I got it for $96, shipped and I'm quite pleased. My first impression is quite positive and I'm looking forward to giving it some pocket time and use. I like the fact that it's just a bit more substantial in comparison to my Seb, but by no means large. At the price I paid, I won't hesitate to use it pretty hard. With the AO in the "Off" position, it's very smooth. Also, it seems that the edge is a bit more "toothy" in comparison to my ZDP Caly3. It reminds me of Spyderco's S30V, but that might be because someone owned it before and the edge might not be factory(althought it appears to be). I also really like how much coverage there is over the lock. Just enough to disengage, but not like to happen by accident.
Thanks for the info, guys:thumbup:
