The Outcast looks like an interesting knife. Anyone here put one through its paces?

Am curious to hear what folks who have one have to say about them.

I've got one and I like it. a lot of poeple on this site have a different opinion.
The D2 steel is not the best choice for a knife this size.
It also fits that "too big for a knife, too small for a machete" category.
I've had mine for 1 1/2 to maybe two years now and I haven't had any problems

I have one and really like it. I havent done alot of chopping with it yet.
But what I have done I was impressed. Curious to see what others say as well

Knives should be used as knives. Not axes, Judging by the pics in that thread the gentleman was batoning thru Bois D'arc, extremely hardwood.

I havent seen any reports of the Outcast breaking, but you can break anything if you try hard enough.

Had any returned or heard complaints of them breaking Thomas?

Haven't seen many returns.

The Outcast continue's to sell quite well, and is generally spoken about in a postive manner.

I guess "batoning" is one of my pet peeves, I have never done it.

I have been in the situation where I needed to split some large logs before. I used my knife to carve a set of wedges and spilt it up, no problem.

Please note, chopping is not "batoning". My Outcast Chops just fine and is comfortable to do so. Within reason.

But I wouldn't pound it thru a log no matter what the steel !

Ok, rant off, I'll be quiet now, lol
