Its a semi-auto .308 made by FN build on the BAR action, garenteed sub MOA out of the box, I can get one of them at a good price but I am worried about the Mags, I think it uses Propriatory mags which are hard to get right now.

The magazines are the problem...I have been looking at one of these as well, much lighter than most 308 semi-autos but 100+ bucks per mag when you can find them turns me off of them...they cannot use an AR-10 mag which has been stated as a mag source on some sites. The only magazines I can find online are 50+ for 10 rounders.

I think I will stick with my FN/FAL...I bought 20 mags for 10 bucks each when I got it, now they are 30 (half that for used in bulk) but at least they are available.

Accurate, appears to be reliable.
The heavy barreled version I have here put three shots into 5/8 of an inch at 100 yards with one load off the bench.
I don't find it light, it's a heavy gun with glass & 20-round mag loaded.
Very configurable with three recoil pads, three comb risers & several stock shims.
Not easy to break down for cleaning, not much fun to lug around, not meant to be a battle rifle.
It's a police version of the hunting BAR.

I will say the action is tough and should last forever, we have a standard BAR that started life as a .338 and is now a .375/338 that handles 375 H&H equivalent loads easily. I don't know how many we have put through it but we have been shooting it for years without any problems or signs of problems.

The FNAR is about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds lighter than an M1A depending on model. It also seems to better center that weight for better ballance making it feel lighter yet. It is also a bit lighter than my FN. But for the money and the cost and availability of the mags I would go with a good FAL instead.

This one weighs a bit over 10 pounds unloaded with 20-round mag & Weaver 3X10 Grand Slam scope mounted.
