Hi I would like your opinions with a knife maker named richard self I would like to get a fixed blade from him and wanted to know how well his knives are made.

If it's the Self I'm thinking of, Very Clean. In fact he has a very nice one in either snake wood or beef wood that is sweet. If you give him a call. Mention my name for the good guy deal!!! Haaa! Mike
 
Richard Self makes some of the nicest knives I've ever seen. He has a knack of picking and using the nicest pearls, ivorys and woods ever and his fit and finish is top notch. He's also a pretty nice guy to talk to. I'll be talking to him in a couple of weeks, at the Tulsa Gun Show the weekend of the 21st of Oct.
 
Richard has the table next to mine at the Little Rock Show. He's a great maker and its always a pleasure to hang around him at the shows. Lin Rhea
 
Richard is a great guy & makes great knives, beautiful and functional. He's also a pleasure to be around. Upstanding guy! :thumbup: Dwayne
