Title says it all, just curious if anyone has had a handle come loose while using the knife in this or any other manner. Jerry said that the new nickle tubes are stronger than the old brass ones so I was just checking in to see if there are any other reports of this happening.-Jeff

I beat on mine without mercy and have total confidence it it. I have the most experience with my FBMLE as I use it splitting hard woods for kindling (I use rather heavy kindling so I am talking about big bites of pretty stout wood) in my fireplace insert. I suppose my HOGFSH would be pretty close in amount of use just because I have had it longer. I think you would be VERY pleased with one for that purpose

i beat the crap out of mine and it is still in good shape, minus some of the coating.

if the fastener has come loose, i imagine it wasnt properly installed in the first place. send it in.

Other than a little blade flex the on the FN FAT FBM they baton beautifully! I go through seasoned oak like butter....really hard dried out butter that you break a sweat beating through, but if you use your imagination it cuts like butter.

But to answer your question....no issues whatsoever!

I have battoned my FBM alot and have had no problems as of yet. Everythings held up great

Gravelface,

You must have very "Manly" Toast for that kind of Butter, and pretty Manly teeth to chew it with, plenty of Roughage in that though.

LOL

Thanks, I thought about tyying something like he did to tighten it up, but Jerry said there must be something else wrong because the handle should be fastened to the tang rock solid before they are even flared out at the ends.
