Looking for some info on this company. The knife looks hefty and fit/finish looks tight. Any help would be appreciated.MPE
Not sure what information that you are looking for, but Forumite Jeff Velasco from Brazilian Blades,
http://www.brazilianbladesmiths.com.br has this to say:
"Ricardo and Roberto Lala are some of the original makers in the business around here. They started back in 1990 using stock removal techniques and 440C. Their focus was at the time camp knives, hunters and bowies as that was what the local market was demanding.
Slowly they developed very specific know-how on stock removal and stainless steel blades that naturaly led them to folders, tacticals and balisongs. They favor high tech materials and techniques and are constantly researching in order to offer better products. Their latest advance is the IKBS bearing system that was invented in cooperation with Brazilian blademaker Flávio Ikoma.
The IKBS, or Ikoma Korth Bearing System, which is patent pending, is a new mechanism to hold a folder´s blade in the handle minimizing the wobble and friction of the parts to almost none, resulting in a durable and smooth action."
I own one of the Amazonas folders that was an exclusive with AZCK, which I purchased after seeing pictures. The knife is as well made as any frame lock that I have ever owned(about 15, give or take, from the biggies), and has an otherworldly smoothness. VERY reasonably priced as well.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
