I've been looking at his blades for a while, but f/a distance as I've never got to lay my hands on one. I hate to lay out the high $$ amount for one of these blades and then regret it.

I'd appreciate any honest opinions you might have f/actual owners and users.

Thanks.

I found them to be great to deal with and have top notch knives. I bought my 1st Sebenza from them when it was $315 and everyone wanted to know why they were selling them cheaper than anyone else. I did not complain. Good Company IMO.

The workmanship is flawless.Everybody that collects custom knives should have a Scagel style knife IMO.Treeman one of the best!

The people at Treeman knives are good to deal with. They gave me a fair price on my Randall Combat Companion. Wish I had bought the Ray Cover lockback they had at that time though.

Does anyone have any experience w/Jim Behring's scagel style blades?

Nothing to be concerned about with Behring's knives. I have made sheaths for scores of well-known Scagel spin-off's and Jim's are among the finest Scagel style knives I have seen in fit, finish, and performance. If I was looking for another Scagel style knife myself, Behring would head the list of possible choices.:)

I bought a Gerber Silver Trident from Treeman. Excellent service. I would'nt hesitate to do business with them again.

Hi Guys
dealt with Jim through an Ebay transaction, absolutely flawless experience.

I'll further the love-in...
I have met Jim and have had many a long and serious conversation regarding knives. He makes a gorgeous rendition of many different models of scagel style knives. He also is a top-notch dealer. Good guy to shoot the sheet with.

If you like Scagel style knives, you GOTTA get one of Jim's. He does Scagel like few people can. Plus, he's a heck of a nice guy to deal with.

Jim Behring is good people. I've bought from him on 3 occasions, each time it was a pleasure.

James Behring Jr. is now making knives. Let me tell you that the apple
has not fallen far from the tree!

Big Daddy Jim has a "gift" for knife making. Sure, they look great in pictures, but when you hold one in your hand, you know that it is something special.

Square dealers, honest, hard working family.

I too have purchased several knives from Jim "Treeman" Behring. CRK's, Arno Bernard, and others. I also own 5 Treeman Scagel style knives. I think the Treeman Scagel's are one of the best values in a custom hand forged fixed blade in their price range. You have to hold one to catch the fever. I have crotch stag, crown stag, hammermarked, and 4 inch fat skinners up to 6 inch heavy hunters. I check his web site several times a day to see if he has listed any new Treeman Scagels. You have to be lucky and quick to get one. They rarely last more than an hour on the web site. I understand he also sells out quickly at shows. I live on the West Coast and can't attend the shows he does which are mostly East of the Rockies.

By all means, get yourself a Treeman Scagel ...... for the collection, or to use in the field. Top quality and all hand made with Jack Mosher sheaths which are also as good as it gets.

Bill Morris at Michigan Knives always has some, and there is always eBay, where there are usually a couple new ones listed.

Enough already.:) :D

I also have purchased all of my CRK's from Jim. Fantastic service. Bill at Michigan Knives also has a lot of good deals, plus the transactions are always very smooth & quick. I highly recommend both for knife purchases.

And of course you NEED at least one of Jim's Scagels! Beautiful knives.

Thanks all... I did get one of Jim's great Scagel's about 3 weeks back. Something of beauty and as sharp as can be. It's a very nice 6" blade and know I feel like I have to have something a bit smaller to use as a field knife/hunter. If only my $$ could keep up w/my wants. :)

Jim is a very nice person and a fine knifemaker.
