The wife and I are thinking about making a move out of SW FL. Too many people here now. We've been toying with the idea of living around the Smokies in GA and would to get the skinny from people who live there. Thanks in advance.
 
Blairsville is a modest sized town. The people seem real nice and you have a major 4 lane road running through. They do have a Home Depot in Blairsville which I find handy. The mountains immediately south of Blairsville are about the same as you see anywhere in the Blue Ridge (which includes the Smoky Mt NP). I don't think there are many places to work in Blairsville, but would make a nice place to retire I think.

Have you spent time there? A lot of people from Atlanta buy property and build cabins in the mountains.
