Found a hatchet head in the garage of a family friend's house who's moving. Gonna try to rehang it and get it looking decent. It has a small, worn logo on it that says "PLUMB". Any info or tips?

Plumb was good stuff, and there's a thread all about them here on the BF'S that should provide great info.

My only real advice would be to remove the rust with a wire wheel in am angle grinder as soaking it in vinegar will remove the patina.
Other than that all I can say is post a picture because we have to see it .
there's an unspoken rule that you can't mention an axe or hatchet head without showing it, because we just can't get enough 😁

There is a search feature in the upper right hand corner of this forum. Type in 'Plumb Axes' and then be prepared to stay up late for a few days. If you post detailed pictures on this thread you will find that there are knowledgeable folks that can speed things up regarding resurrecting the piece and about vintage and ID.

Right now I'm staying at my cousins' house so this is the best I've got. The pics got flipped upside down somehow but they show the shape well enough.

Thanks guys!

That's what's called a half axe ( had a suspicion it was gonna be one ), it's a general use carpentry type tool.
Was there any traces of a red epoxy inside the eye ? And are there any traces of black paint on the head ?
Your gonna have to find the plumb thread to potentially date it.

FYI if you try to google plumb, you may come across a totally different company called plomb that looks like blvmb because the arrow used for the o . In I think the early 1900's they were sued by plumb for having such a similar name, but we're allowed to keep their name since they just produced wrenches, ratchets...ect. but they did break the contract by making some hammers and maybe hatchets in the 20's .
Just a bit of interesting info in case you happen to come across a plvmb tool.

Thanks for the info. I don't see any epoxy, but it does look like there's some paint on the head.
