I have obtained a Hibben Dragonlord European Version, and I need some verification.
It looks like the Dragonlord, but had a shorter claw as the knuckle guard. The seller told me there were only 2000 of these made (doubtful, I'd expect them to be serialized if that was the case). The sheath is signed By Gil Hibben. Can anyone tell me more about this knife?

Why not send United an email?
I don't think there are too many United fans around here.
If you want a real knife buy a KaBar or something.

Coldwolf:

Welcome to the forums. I don't know a lot about Hibben knives and United would probably be the best to answer your question. However from what I've seen and read I wasn't under the impression that there were "European" versions of Hibben knives, rather just one version.

Welcome to Bladeforums!

I'm not much of fan of fantasy knives generally, although Virgil England is something else ... but the Dragon Lord is one Hibben I really like. I have seen a European version for sale, but I don't know anything about it, other than it also looked good, maybe a little simpler and darker than the standard model.

Pergatory. I have plenty of fine knives...I didn't ask for your opinion of Uniteds line of Hibben repros. I understand that there are "better" knives. Thats not the point, though, is it?
I could easily have discredited this knife myself, but really all I wanted was some solid info on a supposedly rare fantasy knife.

Esav, thanks, it is a slightly better design, and just a little darker. I checked Uniteds site, they don't give an email address for anything except orders.

Dark Nemisis, thanks for the welcome. I'ts definatly not the same as the American version.

Wolfman, nah...just a little miffed when I read his get a real knife reply. I got a couple of replies like that at alt.knives.rec too. Just tired of elitest answers to legit questions...
I think I'll give United a call on Monday.

Pergatory..I offer my hand.. no hard feelings?
BTW I personally prefer my Boker toplock for everyday carry, altho I with it wasn't so bulky.

Coldwolf....wolfmann, well, I SEEEEEEE I better not be too stupid. Glad to meet ya Wolf. I have a toplock, a few of them, but I just cannot find any "trust" in them to carry one......Be cool, have a great day and being a coward, I have a Hibbens too!!!!!
Wolf-mann;)

Coldwolf,

You are describing the European Dragon Lord. It is a limited production, but I am not sure what the exact number produced is. United first introduced it in October 1996. Sorry I don't know any more info!
