Im just checking out the falcon II online, seems awesome. One potential flaw I see is it looks like your hydration reservoir would dig into your back if the bag was stuffed. Has anyone experienced this? Am I wrong?

HardTriper, can't say about the hydration system, don't use one with the pack, but I have two of them loaded & they are great packs for the money. I added the bottle carrier, 2 of the M-1 pouches, & one of the 5X7X4 vertical G/P pouches. My Junglas fits great on the one side with the molle straps w/ one of the M-1 pouches above it. Good pack for the money. Good luck.
Be safe.

Take a good look at the dimensions. The Falcon 2 is a very small pack.

Good point NorCalMtn2, I suppose it would depend on what HardTripper was going to haul around in it. I had a medium A.L.I.C.E pack & frame and had a lot of room left in it, just made it too much trouble to handle. Both of these packs fit exactly the equipment & gear I need to have with me when I am out and about. Good suggestion.
Be safe.

IMO their gear is usually pretty good and affordable, but their CS and "ethics" have had a poor reputation(eg threatening the Owner of EDCF).

I have few maxpedition packs, the Monsoon and a jumbo versipack. I enjoyed them for some time but I recently got a 511 Rush 24 pack and it is far better than anything I have from Maxpedition. I do use the Maxpedition XXL for all my computer gear and toys I use when I am on the road at work, that is an exceptional pack for that. The smaller backpacks and shoulder rigs are not anything I would ever buy again.

I have a Vulture II and a Proteus and love them both. I thought the pouch for the water reservoir might be a little wierd with mine but there is a thickly padded panel between the user and the reservoir and you don't notice much difference.

In the Condor II I have if the pack is full the back bulges out when a full bladder is placed in it. Also, it took me a long time to get it adjusted so that it fit me comfortably. I finally got it adjusted right and after I drink some water from the bladder it is a very comfortable pack.

I just bought the Falcon II.
Mine is tailored to accomodate the reservoir somewhat.
See below. The pic shows the inside of the main compartment.
The reservoir stays in an adjacent compartment on the rear of the pack, but as you can see, it is allowed to press into the main compartment as long as that compartment isn't stuffed to the gills.

I'm setting up a field/overnight kit with this pack for one-night warm weather trips. About to order a hammock. I have a Spec Ops Combat Master (with Ratweiler) on one side, a Mini RollyPoly (expands to accommodate a full size Nalgene) on the other. Still waiting on pouches for a flashlight and a GPS unit as well as a Camelbak Storm 100oz reservoir (currently backordered). With the bigger reservoir, I can still carry quite a bit of water without having it puffed out.

Cool, all of my backordered accessories just shipped. When I get the kit together, I'll post up some pics (though probably in the Becker forum along with some Becker items).

I actually decided on ordering the Vulture II, Im taking a chance having not tried it on but I hope I like it. It seems kind of thick for such a short bag, like it might put you off balance, and I have my concerns about the water reservoir thing. Ive heard good things, lets hope I experience some. I guess theres always returns...

I've stuffed my PF2 to the gills with gear and fit a full 3L camelbak hydration pack in the compartment durring a few hikes. You will feel the water bladder but its not uncomfortable, just feels like a waterbed more than anything else. Thats with the compression straps all the way let out with gear lashed to them, it was about a 30lb pack. With my normal much much lighter load I don't notice the bladder at all. The narrowness of the pack makes bumming through the woods nice and easy.

The vulture 2 looks nice as well, be sure to write up a review!

Guyon, cool pack

I like the BF Wilderness and Survival patch too

I've been looking at them since they came out, but I don't know how much space I'll have. I have an INGO patch, one of Progunner's HOG patches on order, RMJ just came out with a patch, I don't know how much space I'll have :D
