Anyone have one of these sheaths?

I'm planning to get my first Buck knife: the classic 110. The only thing I don't like about it is you have to use two hands to open it but I can live with that. I have come across a sheath that opens the knife when pulled out. Anyone have any information on the sheath/retailer? How well does it perform? Another question, is there a difference(besides the emblem on the handle) between the 100th anniversary and the std. edition knife? I've heard you can buy the 100th anniversary knife at wallyworld for $30. And the std. at Academy for $25 with a leather sheath(do they still have that deal?) Thank you for your time.

I'm not sure I'd do the sheath. I don't have any experience with it, but if you can live with the two-handed opening its probably best. The knife is BIG already in the eyes of most people, do you really want the troubles that come along with an opening like this? I sure wouldn't. Added to that, the sheath actually makes the knife illegal in certain jurisdictions where it might not otherwise be, because it allows the knife to be drawn in the open position. I could be wrong, but I believe that MA has those actual words written into their penal code. It was either MA, MD, or NY. I would think that the potential for getting noticed would be just too high. As far as the knife goes, I think the only difference between the 100th anniversary knives and the standards is the shield. There might be a blade etch on some, but I'm just not sure at the moment. Hope I helped, and please forgive me if my advice has offended, it certainly wasn't intended.

Sincerely,
Anthony

That sheath is patented and still under patent protection. It was invented by a guy named Jim (can't remember his last name) who is Phil, of Phil's fine Cutlery in Nevada, partner. I have two at home that he gave me several years ago at Jim Parkers knife show in Pigeon Forge TN. They work real nice in a Buck or similar style knife.

Another knife that draws in the open position is the Emerson Commander which isn't illegal in Texas. I assume that this sheath would be in the same territory as the Commander which, too, has a "quick-draw" sheath. I can live with the two-handed open but if I ever have to use the knife in a self-defense situation(hopefully that'll never happen), I'd want it to be open and ready for action. Thank you for the information, guys. Another question: how exactly does it work? Thanks again for any information provided.

DC II, instead of the sheath, you could pick up a 0ne Armed Bandit from SMKW for about $5. It will make for a tight fit in a new leather sheath though. If you've got an old well worn 110 sheath it works very well. You could also saddle soap your new sheath and then oil it good with neatsfoot oil to softenit up.
