This looks awesome!

Based on the work of inventor Louis Graves, here is a compact sharpener that will do it all. Two diamond rods for establishing a new bevel and/or thinning a dull blade. Two ceramic rods of very high alumina content to put that razor sharp finished edge on the blade. The rods are held at 30 degrees compound, that is each rod is 15 degrees from the center of the V. The V is formed when the rods are inserted in the base and the base is placed on a level surface.

Note that with the cover open and the rods in place, the cover provides protection for the hand holding the unit steady as the knife is firmly stroked down the inside of the V, first one side and then the other.

This is so universally useful that you will want one in your desk drawer as well as a part of your hunting gear and of course in the tool drawer in your kitchen. Rods measure 4", case 5-1/4" X 2-1/2".

Yes, I have one. Good combo, between the diamond (very quick edges) and the ceramic. Very compact, too; it'd be a great travelling sharpener. The only possible downside, only one set angle (30 degrees). I like my edges thin, so this works for me. Those wishing to put a wider bevel (or micro bevel) on it won't have that option on this one (edit: at least without tilting the blade a little bit).

Good to hear, I'm going to put one in my bug out bag ASAP.

What would you say the finer hone is like.... sharpmaker's fine?

I think it's probably closer to the Sharpmaker's brown rods (medium), maybe even a tiny bit coarser. This sharpener puts fast working edges on knives, with a little more 'bite' than you might see from the SM. I actually like the edge coming off the diamond rods from this one, and seldom use the 'fine' rods afterwards.
