Hey guys I know it can happen but just have not seen it, but has anyone have any pics of rust or pitting on proper dlc stainless steel not the edge but the actual coating. Thanks!

Uh... if any... it would be UNDER the coating. The coating itself cannot rust. Unless it gets contaminated after coating the blade.

Dlc is porous. I've read it doesn't help corrosion resistance, but have seen tests where it apparently did help. It's a conundrum I can't attest to as all my dlc blades are stainless steels that are highly corrosion resistant.

Yep, the coating can be porous if it's not prepped well or not applied thick enough or if there are contaminants, etc. DLC itself can NOT rust, it is basically elemental carbon. If the coating is very porous the steel underneath could rust and that could bleed through.
