I bought a Wilkinson Sword Dartmoor knife before the factory was shut down. While it is a great design (though mine is currently unused) I realised I didn't have anything in writing confirming what the warranty was on my knife. If anyone has anything confiriming what the warranty is (it was 'Limited Lifetime' according to the staff I spoke to when ordering it) I'd love to hear from them! TIA...

Um ... do the words "factory shut down" and "warranty" belong in the same question? Who are you expecting to honor the warranty? In this case, the "lifetime" mentioned in the warranty turned out to be the company's lifetime, not yours....

yeah. . . I think you have answered your own question. There is no warranty on products from businesses that don't exist.

Fiskars bought the company and eventually closed the factory down... As Fiskars are very much a going concern liability passes to them if I can provide evidence of my contract with their now closed sub-business.. I agree if Wilkie had just bit the dust it would be 'game over' but as they were part of an umbrella company including (I believe..) Gerber amoungst others, then it's still interesting!
