Looking for a reliable over built tomahawk, without the 4 month wait. Can anyone post pictures or do a quick review for me? Thanks
This is a repost from the Benchmade fourm, since no reply there.

I have never owned one but I have played with several. My first question is what are you intentions of use for the hawk, because this thing a a massive chunk of steel. About the only thing it is good for is breaching. It is too thick to cut wood and too heavy to make it a great fighter. Just my 2 cents

Pretty much that, Breaching. But I would like it also for wood working, so I would probably have to regrind the edge a bit.

I think you'll have to regrind the whole bevel to make it thinner, to get close to chopping wood. Then, it's so heavy that your forearms will be burning after just a few minutes.
If you haven't watched any videos on this, do so. It doesn't come sharp, because it's made for breaching. I wouldn't expect a breacher to chop wood at all. Get a small hatchet for that.
