Was thinking about picking one of these up since I saw it featured in Outdoor Life. Saw the piece Phil Elmore wrote that mentions the knife, but there, he really reviews the company more than he reviews the knives.

I believe the model name is the "Phil A." It's a 6-inch folding fillet knife with AUS-8 steel.

I love their advertising of this knife though and how its saying aus-8 is the most rustproof steel out there.

Don't have that one, but I do have the big Benchmade one designed by Steigerwalt that is also AUS-8. I bought it on a whim and I'll be darned, but the thing has become my favorite filet knife ever.

Guyon NOOOOOOOO! My eyes are bleeding!!!

sorry:p

What? Of all the Mantis line, this one looks legit. No crazy angles.

AUS-8 makes a fine fillet knife too. I have a Knives of Alaska fillet knife in AUS-8 that works very well.

I was mainly wondering about the lock and any fit/finish issues beyond what you'd expect in an inexpensive production knife.

Just kidding man:D. Actually looks pretty slick, go for it and tell us how it does. If it handles as well as it looks it may be a winner.
