Anyone having issues with their Buck Rush?

I'm on my third Buck Rush and I am really beginning to question its quality.

I bought the first one from wallyworld about a month ago. After a few days, the safety latch became loose enough that it wouldn't stay closed on its own, so I exchanged it for another.

The replacement developed a problem about a week later with the opening mechanism - it didn't have enough strength to open the blade any longer, so yesterday I exchanged it once again for a new one.

After having the third one for less than 24hrs, the safety latch is already fairly loose... :|

Am I just truly unlucky or are there other people having problems with the Rush as well?

I bought a sirus a couple of months ago and have had the same problem with it with the safety mechanism becoming loose. I tighten it up and a couple of days later its loose again. Its the only Buck I regret purchasing. :(

Thanks for the quick reply.

If this one continues to go south, I'll send it in for you to take a look at.

I haven't used my Rush that much, but mine seems OK so far. I've had mine just over year - I got last year in Vegas.

Thanks for the offer Jeff. I'll give you guys some time to catch up before I send it in to have you look at it. :)

I've had mine since October 04 and no problems with the safety latch. I have noticed that when I don't flick it hard, it won't open all the way. Other than that, I love the knife. It's been one of my three EDC's, since I got it.

Wow. Almost 2 months to the day since I created this post.

Well, the knife I bought in July has had the same problems as the first two - constant loosening of the safety latch and screws. Every day or two, I have to retighten them.

As of today, it's too weak to even open the blade and the screws are all but stripped from constant tightening.

This is getting quite annoying. I can understand one bad apple, but three in-a-row?

So I guess I'll send it in for warranty work... I just hope this doesnt' keep repeating itself - I really like this knife, but I can only take so much before I just toss it in the trash. :(

We have implemented a solution this week to make sure the safety cams do not come loose again. If you send it in make sure you ask for the new spring version or for Consumer Relation to talk with me so we can make sure you get one of the new ones. The weak spring is most likely the result of tightening the body down. Our testing showed very good spring life.

I sent my knife off to Buck the day after my last post. They sent me a new, redesigned knife. :)

So far, this one is great. No loosening up or problems with the latch.

Thanks for standing behind your product. I'm glad companies like this still exist.
