Anyone hear from MikeH?

well,,IVAN was'nt as bad here in central Alabam as what we had figured, I live about 30 miles east of Birmingham in Pell City, and all we got was some wind and some rain from it,,power went out for about 4-5 hours,,,that was it. I think MikeH lives over in Birmingham,,they had more power outages over there than what we had out here in the Boonies and that may be the reason that he hasnt been on the forum,,,but we were very lucky,,or may I say "Blessed',, that we only suffered what little we did compared to what those folks suffered down along the coast,,I for one feel really blessed.

Power back on today. Freezer contents disposed of. Yard debris picked up.
Shingle damage accessed. "I'm all right, dont'cha worry 'bout me..."

Birmingham got lucky. We didn't get the 70 mph gusts projected, or we would have had a really, really, big mess.

By the way, for some reason I thought of you guys when I read that the FlorBama was almost totally wiped out. Just a little wall standing and full of sand. It is said that in the past when storms came in and the authorities would announce mandatory evacuations in Florida, the local clientele would just move to the other end of the room to Alabama, and vice versa. Hope they don't find some of them under the sand. According to news reports, there is just enough wall left standing for them to rebuild around it and legitimately claim that it is still the original FlorBama. I thought of you guys when the newspaper reported the beer littering the highway and the bottles of Jack Daniels and a lot of other stuff, rums, tequillas, etc. lying about by the case. They'll probably be back up and running in plenty of time for next year's mullet toss.

Bottles of liquor in the streets??? Move over guys, I'm no my way  :D
