Anyone heard from him in the last month or two?

I haven't had a reply to an email or phone call in well over that period.

Pretty much given up at this point and thankfully no money was exchanged. Still, a man's word should count for something, at least in my opinion.

Glad that this experience is far from the norm.

Blues--

Last I heard from Ed was in July. I have two orders placed with him, original delivery time on one was scheduled for June and the other for August. In our last conversation (July), he said he couldn't promise when the first would be completed, and that the second might not get done at all. He's not returned my last few emails.

I believe he’s trying to get a new business off the ground, and apparently he’s been somewhat overwhelmed. Reminds me of Busse a couple of years ago. I can only hope that things improve rapidly and soon.

I also placed an order with Mr. Schott back in May...hope I get it soon.

I also placed an order with him in May, to be completed in July. After three phone messages and three emails with no response, I terminated the order. I hope that nothing has happened to him, as in the past he was a very nice person to discuss knives with.

Sometime ago, we were discussing a deal and then all of a sudden my emails were not returned.

About two months ago I had similar problems. My wife stopped by his address to check. No one was home. We live one state away. This was after no response to email, snail mail and an unanswered message left on his answering machine to set up the visit.

A while ago, Ed told me his wife was pretty sick. I am hoping and praying that she is allright. Ed is a straight up guy. There has to be something going on that we dont know.

I have been waiting on a short sword from Ed and I also have not gotten a response to my emails. I happened to phone Ed a few days ago and again, no response. While reading this thread I thought I would phone Ed one more time before responding, and low and behold Ed answered.

He said to tell everyone that the ground fell out from underneath him and he fell into the bowels of hell. He hasn't made knifes for several months, and he was gone for like six weeks. He is going to come back on the forum this weekend and he is back in the shop today.

I received a brief message from Ed on ICQ the other day in return to mine.

It appears there has been some hardship on the family, and in light of that, knives pale by comparison.

I wish we had known earlier, but all I can say at this point is, Godspeed, Ed, take care of the important things first.

Edward just emailed me and said he would be back on track in a week or so.

I gotta stick my two cents in here...and some of you wont like hearing it... but we ALL know Ed is a straight shooter and obviously something is wrong....MONEY is worthless in comparison to most of the other things in life....its just a tool to pay the bills....and I see too many people on these forums worrying about it when there are much deeper things going on....geez...I see guys complaining because they sent someone $10 for a hat and it didnt come when expected. DONT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS until you talk to the person...ESPECIALLY when you know that person is a straight shooter....everyone has problems...lets not make Eds' worse...
