Anyone heard from Jay Fisher?

His last post here was 07-20-2009.I really looked forward to his new knives,even though I could never afford one.

Just wondering what he's been up to.

He took offense to something I said online and we "discussed" things online. He told me essentially he didn't have time for the conversation he started and I should look for new answers in the book he was finishing. Maybe that has taken his time, but I got the impression (and only an impression) that he was not happy with the forum experience. No true facts, just what I observed.

He had a few people taking shots at him when he would put up a post with new work.. If I am remembering correctly, he was very friendly and not that easily offended, but I do remember one time he said "farewell.." Lorien and him would chat it up a bit during the threads while they were current.... His home web page is unusual and kind of fun to look around on... Best, Rich

I've missed Jay's presence here in the forum. If he's got a book in the works, no doubt he's busy.
Keep meaning to drop him a line, thanks for the reminder. Sent him some nephrite and some other mineral bits, I've been curious if he ever found a use for em.

I always wondered why I never saw him here I figured something happened, and he left. He does good work. He was the first really good maker I looked at, I still find his knives interesting and inspiring, he pulls of the refined tactical look very well.

although some of Jay's designs are a little 'out there', his execution looks top notch. I find many of his designs, especially the more subtle ones, to be very appealing. I've always liked this one;

I agree with Lorien, generally his designs are out there a bit and not really my taste but his execution is always crisp and clean. I emailed him regarding some questions I had on something or other and he was very helpful and courteous . Yup I miss his presence here.
