I was going through some of my late grandfathers things I was given when he passed 9 years ago. There is a tiny gold fleur de lis and eagle pin maybe 3/8" tall and a set of cufflinks with the gold fleur de lis logo centered over white background and "century club" around the logo. About the size of a nickle.

I'm trying to figure out what these were for, how they were attained, significance and if its acceptable for me (a non scouting person) to wear these. I cherrish them as I was close to my grandfather and I had never seen them before he passed.

The small pin, I found one little blip in a for sale ad, that they were given to the scouts mother when he advanced rank. Is this true? I don't think my uncle was a scout, and he also passed before my grandfather. My mother doesn't know what they were for either.

I will post pictures later after work.

My father-in-law is the owner and curator of the New Mexico Scouting Museum. Post up some pictures if you can and I'll ask him.

Bob, that would be awesome if you could ask him. Here are the pics, looks like I misremembered the cuff links, they are silver and bent shank. Not gold with white background. Small pin is next to a dime.

Thanx TL, must be why there are several other "century club" emblazoned items floating around here that I got from him. He was a very community oriented person, always giving and helping others and being involved however he saw fit to make a difference, even up to city council.

Bob W, I would still like to hear what your f.i.l. has to say about these items, if you or he get the chance.

Neither are uniform items that a Scout would wear.

The first item, the tiny pin, was probably intended to be attaching to a ribbon. Perhaps as an adult training award. He's know more perhaps if he could see the pin on the back. Is it a safety pin style, or a push pin?

The second item, as Thomas says, is an award for donating $100. F-I-L had never seen a cuff link set before, but the logo and name are familiar. An indicator of age, the "Century Club" program was popular in the 70s and 80s.

Thanx Bob, I kinda knew they weren't uniform, (I was a scout for a few brief years) but getting proper confirmation helps. The pin is a safety pin style with the rotating hasp.

Id imagine that the cuff links were from probably late 60's-early 70's, if not earlier, by my grandfathers timeline, my mother (the youngest) graduated HS in the early 70's and her brother was 10 years older. But I'll ask my mother again if she recalls any involvement during that time.

I'll post more pics of the pin later. I'm at work, again...

Thanx for all your help!
