Does anyone here have experience with a Cobbq? (portable BBQ)

http://www.cobbq.com/

They just got advertised in a our newspapers magazine, and there's a place that sells them very closeby. I'm thinking of picking one up. Can't have enough BBQ's ;) - It looks like a great portable small BBQ for camping and around the house.

It looks pretty small to me but, we prefer everything XXL sized over on this side of the Atlantic. ;)

I guess my question would be, do you really need a small portable BBQ? How many people would you be cooking for and where would this happen?

If you want a true "smoker" type flavor it looks too small to capture enough smoke or have the temperature control you need.

For a small briquette powered grill, I would use a Hibachi (Habachi to some). The Lodge sportsman grill is also an option that many of my friends used in collge.

That Lodge grill probably is not available in Europe but, I bet you can find a classic Weber Kettle over there. Webers are a cult item to some. They are bigger then the model you are looking at but, last time I checked the prices were very close.

I would say it is to small. Often you want to move food around to get it out of the flame. It looks like it can only do a few pieces of food, and when we BBQ we do meat, potatoes and veg. Just upgraded from 2 burners to 3 burners and a side burner ring :)

That would be nice in the communist country of anchorage, where you can walk around wielding submachine guns, but they won't let you cook ribs on your porch !!!!! Not that I don't like the freedom in some areas, but come on!!! Oh and if you BBQ you must get Stubbs BBQ sauce.

Actually, it looks like a fuel efficient creation.

I've seen something similiar, the fuel in the center thing. Nested dutch ovens?

Well, anyway, it looks a bit pricey at $129. But then again, it may last a lifetime and prove to be better than bread-n-butter.

It looks way too small to me, but if any of you guys are interested, do some searches and you'll find it for much less. The best I saw was $69 (but that's still too much).
