I was cruising around Knifeart, and found this guys knives. Seem REALLY nice, and the price isn't all THAT outrageous. Does anyone here have any experience? Thanks!

Sincerely,
Anthony

I posted the same question here, shortly before the server crash and received some very positive feedback from Bailey Bradshaw, Nifrand, and one other person whose name escapes me at the moment :o .

So, I picked up a two blade saddlehorn trapper from AZCK and I'm very pleased with it. Fit and finish are quite good -- blade grinds nice and even, blades well centered, no gaps or spaces between the liners, bolsters, and (dove tailed) jig-bone scales. Walk and talk are crisp and the blades have half-stops. The knife also arrived sharp; maybe not "knife-knut" scare the hair off your body sharp, but a respectable working sharp.

Jim makes a great knife. And he's a great guy. We just had a school this past weekend and I got to visit with him quite a bit. You won't go wrong buying one of his knives. Dwayne

Well, I know that this may be a tad indellicate, but I don't like contacting makers for idle information. SO... Anyone know if his pricing on different websites is in line with his regular prices? Also, anyone know if he's got a waitlist at the moment? Thanks, and again I'm sorry for anyone who gets ruffled by these questions, but I don't want to call a man to ask these two questions (especially the first), because he's a busy man!

Sincerely,
Anthony

Anthony,
Don't be afraid to call J.B on the phone to ask questions.Great guy.Believe me he won't mind.

Thanks, I just might do that! Its just that some makers really don't want you to call unless its to place an order, and I don't know if I'm gonna place an order until I know all the details. I hope that I can catch him at a good moment, though!

Thanks, again!
Sincerely,
Anthony

Tony,
His fit finish & work is perfect! My problem is I have one of his jigbone trappers & it just sits on my dressor, cloth wrapped Just can't bring myself to use it,it's just too FINE,to use. Will have to sell it one day, cause I sure ain't gonna get it scratched!! :D

Jim, I know what you mean about not carrying a knife that's too pretty. Of course I eventually EDC'd my Don Morrow trapper, but I can't do that anymore because of knife regulations where I'm living. At slightly over 8" in OAL, it was a monster, but a BEAUTIFUL piece. I'm toying with the idea of another Morrow trapper, but I saw Mr. Moore's work on Knifeart, and saw a picture of his backsprings, and his knife looked almost like a closed back knife, especially since you couldn't see any lines between the springs and the liners. Is this typical of Mr. Moore's work? I've yet to get in contact with him, but I'm working up the nerve to. Like I said, I just don't like calling busy people to ask them questions w/o knowing if I'm going to put in an order. Of course it was a saddlehorn trapper by Wally Watts that made me get into that particular pattern. Unfortunately that knife came up for sale and I was strapped or it would have been mine. Anyhoo, back to Mr. Moore's work...

Sincerely,
Anthony
