Ok...I have 1999 Chevy Silverado Z-71 and I am having a stereo issue, or multiple issues, I can't tell.
About 3 months ago the stereo began cutting out intermittently. It would stop producing sound for a few days at a time, but it would still light up, accept CD's, change stations, etc. This is the model with the detached CD unit if that makes a difference.
Today, I replaced the head unit and had the same problem. All power, but no sound.
I wonder if it is the speakers, but they produce solid sound when I can actually get sound. Is there some sort of in-line amp or something that I am missing?
I am out of ideas, y'all. Can anyone help? Truckforums.com has not been much help, so I am checking here.
Thanks
