This post from Don Rearic in the 'What is missing in ESEE's product line?' thread caught my attention:

There was a R.A.T. folder from Queen's Cutlery / Ontario, a Rail Splitter Pattern.

I didn't know about this so I googled it and as far as I can see there was one run of 500 slipjoint folders with ram's horn handles and D2 blades. They're REALLY nice!

Is anybody here one of the 500 that own one of these handsome little pocketknives?

Wow that's really cool I never knew they made a slipjoint. I would love one!

Yeah, me too!

I found some pics but they belong to stores and I don't think it's allowed to repost them here. Now I've seen the knives I agree with Don Rearic, it would be awesome to see something similar to this done again in the future.

... that's a stout looking slipjoint.

Funnily, was thinking the other day to start a thread about the chance of a non - locking RAT folder.
The new HEST is great but here in the UK , there's no chance of ever getting to carry it legally. That's a big outlay for something to help you "survive" around the house.
Spyderco seem to have done very well with their UKPK....now, a legal Izula folder, mmmmnnnnn.......!

I'm guessing you know this already, but I want to clarify what you've written for the benefit of others as it's a bit misleading.

It's not illegal to carry a HEST in the UK if you have a reason to do so.

If you're engaged in a recreational or professional activity that requires a knife, you're NOT breaking the law by carrying a HEST, either with a fixed blade or a locking folder.

That is one Slippy that would be reserved for vest carry,or in a sheath,at least for me.I have a Queen Cattle King(monster Stockman)that is too big for pocket(pants)carry.Big slipjoints carry well in vest or jacket pockets though.

Jeff should get it going on with some reputable manufacturer of slipjoints. It would sell like mad. Those three bladed types of slipjoints are legal damned near everywhere except in courthouses and other places no one in their right mind goes to unless they have to. :D

Yeah, that's a great knife. With those three blade styles, you can do just about anything that needs doing with a pocket knife.

I have one, it's a great knife. The backs on the spey and sheepsfoot are a little sharp, and could use a good rounding down. One of my favorite slippies.

Those were nice knives Queen did for us back then. I suspect you could find either the Rail Splitter or the Stockman if you searched them out with collectors or used knife dealers. I still carry a very smal Queen slip joint as my EDC in my pants pocket. I might chnage that out once the HEST folder gets here.:)

They were great! I regret not picking one up.

I have seen them turn up on auction sites from time to time.
