Hi guys,
I bought a Bison lavvu yesterday and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this type of shelter. It is sort of a tipi which can be used with open fire or stove.
I also considered helsport but got an offer I couldn't refuse for the Bison.:)
I'm so excited! Now I just need to find a nice stove and some funds to buy it. I'll post pics when after my first outing with it.

Congrats. I'd love to have something like that, I really like those. I know there's at least one person here with a similar style tent.

That looks Awesome! I was really wanting to get something in that style but with having a family it was easier to get around in a standard style tent so i went with the Kodiak canvas 10 X 12 and it is fantastic so far.Let us know what you thing what you think. Hell go set it up in your back yard and take some pics.

Congrats, I wish I got out in the winter enough to justify tht purchase.. Oh well, I am still young right...

Those pictures look more like a Kota than a Laavu(term used hereabouts). Kota is similar to Teepee/Tipi like those Helsports where as a Laavu we have here is shaped like a open lean-to shelter. Of course then there's the Loue :p which is different animal all together ....I guess the main point here is.... can't trust those damn Norwegians...:D

Hehe, confusing isn't it:D Imagine how it is for a Dutchman like me. Well, I don't really care what they are called, I think they look awesome! It should be here tomorrow but I have to impregnate it first. I believe that can be done when it's over 12c degrees...Oh, and putting it up in my garden would be impossible, I live in an 8 stories apartment building unfortunately. So I'll have to wait a bit for my first tryout. I think I'm gonna buy the Kni-co alaskan stove for it. Can't wait to try it out.
My wife is just as anxious as me and my 18 month year old daughter doesn't have a clue ;-) It will be good times, I'm sure of it.
