Anyone here carry the same knife as their father, and or grandfather? Me and my dad both carry Benchmade/Emerson CQC 7s.

I carry my grandfathers buck 301, and my dad and I both have opinels but he doesn't carry his.

My son carry's the same knives as his father does, I'm his father of course. Since I usually double up on knives in order to get him one, he ends up carrying what his pa does. Course he dosen't have the exact edc's I have, and neither do I have the exact same as he, so sometimes we are carrying a different edc. Lately we have both been carrying the BM275BK Adamas.

I just gave my grandfather a Para 1 (his first Spyderco besides the Aqua Salt I got him for his B-day last year) He's always carried a pocket knife, usually a case, old timer, or lower priced kershaw, this is the first pocket knife over $40 he's gotten. (He used to get me cool knives I saw in cases ($5-20) back when I was in grade school and Jr High and didn't know about higher end stuff. I also carry para's often.

I don't think my dad has ever carried a knife a day in his life. But my grandpa carried a Vic Executive every day that I can remember. He actually gave it to me, and the spare one he had, shortly before he died.

When I was younger we both carried SAKs. Now we both carry Spyderco salts. Dad carries the yellow Pacific salt we got him for father's day a few years ago and mine is a serrated Tasman. My son has the serrated Ladybug salt and a plain edge Tasman.

I have an Emerson CQC-7 coming in the mail this week. I'm hoping I love it.

Just had Mom here, and definitely no knives or guns for her. Now that I have young kids, I'll buy an extra knife with the mind that they will use and carry them. Both know that their first knife and gun are on Dad when they are old enough.

Funny thing to me is that Mom still doesn't understand how a knife or gun can have meaning between parent and child. To me is a connection that lasts long after one has passed. When you know how much the piece meant to the loved one, you appreciate it beyond the monetary value.
