Anyone just "pocket" their RC-3 for EDC?

I got my first Rat Cutlery knife yesterday (RC-3) and EDC'ing today. It is just riding in my RFP. I am wearing jeans and it fits great and rides comfortably against the inside seam with my Spyderco Khukuri clipped on the other side of the pocket (riding against the outside seam in typical clip carry position). See, I rarely wear a belt, and I tried the boot clip for IWB, but it was riding a little high for my liking, so I just stuck it in my pocket and voila!

I must admit, when I bought it, I wasn't planning on this being in the EDC rotation too much, but it's such a great little knife and rides so nicely in my pocket, it will get some good pocket time for sure!

I was so frickin geeked about getting this knife at first. Now I cant figure out how to carry it. Like you said it rides to high and cuts into my side with the clip. I guess i could just toss it in my cargo pocket......I have been throwing in by EDC bag for shits and giggles. Ill have to try the pocket.

Try carrying in the waistband. I have the clip facing outwards with the knife at the small of my back canted at an angle. Doesn't get in the way, is unobtrusive, and a very comfortable way to carry and draw. Likewise you can always get a MOLLE backing and carry it on your belt without it riding up.

Thats how I EDC mine also (front pocket of my jeans). You would think it would be very uncomfortable, but for me its perfect.

Yep, I "just pocket." My RC3 is rigged for 3 carry modes. IWB, neck, and pocket. The cord is tucked into a piece of bike inner tube when not used. The boot clip for IWB is on the other side. Most times though, I just drop it in my front pants pocket.

I find it too long for pocket carry. I like the total length to be less than 6.5" for that. The izula would certainly work for that!

I do like the tip above with the ranger band. Also, really cool how you fixed the band in place using the bolts. Never would have thought of that, yet it makes a lot of sense to do it that way.

If you can come by the MOLLE back for it, it can ride much lower on the belt.

Ummm no. The Izulu, yes, RC-3 no. It would drive me nuts all day long. It rides very comfortably in my EDC bag, the Izulu sits in either my cargo pocket, or on my hip, depending on if I am at work or not.

Yep, I (surprisingly) really didn't notice it there unless I had to lift my right leg getting into the car. But that was quickly remedied by simply moving the butt over a bit before getting into the car. Even reaching into my pocket to get something out, it wasn't an issue. Drawing it was quick and resheathing it too. Overall, no more work then one of my normal EDC folders and it's nice to know I can EDC such a sturdy little FB workhorse just as easily.

I often carry this size of fixed blade in my pocket, just as has been discussed.

Another way to carry this knife would be static-line.

Or, you could carry static-line without the line.... Like the samurai did, I think, I do that quite a bit, though not good for when you are active.

I would carry one IWB with the included bootclip, but if you dont like that The KA BAR TDI Clip works too.
