Like a Girard Perregaux 14k gold, antique watch, about 30-40 years old, maybe older with a square face, roman numerals, and a separate second hand? (on a different, smaller, watch face with the face--sorry I know next to nothing about watches of any type :)) It is manual/automatic- no batteries.

My girlfriend just recieved a watch like this, and she wants to know a little about it, age, value, etc.

anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks.
Pete

Hard to say without a pic but GP was/is certainly a high quality manufacturer.
Ladies watches are worth a good deal less than men's watches. You can get a nice men's 14k gold watch for about $200-$300+. A nice ladies gold GP should be worth at least $150 depending on condition. You might do an ebay search on Perregaux ladies to see some watches.

BTW, the smaller circle with the seconds hands is called sub seconds.
Modern GP stuff is hellaciously expensive.

hers is a mens watch, and in searching ebay did see that GP did have hellacious expensivity:)

thanks
Peter
