Anyone know anything about the Boker Titan Defender Lightweight?

I read up on the steel for a while and what stuck in my head was a summary that it is basically "like very tough VG-10".

It looks very nice, but the price, 4mm thick blade, and being a liner-lock...

Hi Reek. I have the Lightweight Titan, and had the Titan Defender before it was stolen this summer. Both knives are well worth the price, and the street price on the Titan Defender is ~$350. I am going to replace the Titan Defender, and it may be this month that I do.

As far as the knife goes; the fit/finish is excellent. The blade grinds are even on both sides and the edge will pop hairs. I've found that N690BO steel to be a really good steel, as it takes a really sharp edge, and holds it for awhile. The lock up is excellent! The knife is advertised as having 2mm thick titanium liners, which would be .080", but in reality the liners are .100" thick. For a smaller knife, this thickness might as well be a framelock. The blade is advertised as 4mm thick, but is actually 3.5mm thick. This would be .157" for the 4mm, and .140" for the 3.5" blade. Someone at Boker needs to learn how to measure!;)

The Titan Defender and Lightweight Titan Defender are stout little bulldogs, and that is thing I like about them.:)

Thanks for the input, cutter17 :) It's a very nice looking knife in the catalog for sure!

I examined it closely in the Böker shop a month ago, and mine should be arriving today or tomorrow!
It IS worth the money. As a comparison, I now have the small Sebenza Insingo which cost the same as the Böker list price (on some american online shops it is around $220 though, a good deal) and the Böker can easily stand next to the CR.
It's not "just a liner lock". These are 2.5mm thick titanium liners which is only 0.5mm less thick than the framelock of my CR. The lockup is equally awesome.
The feeling when you hold it is the same sturdiness level as the ZT200; perhaps even more, yet at the same time quite a bit more chic and more EDC-able.
I like the stonewashed look of the blade. In my experience N690 also performs very well.
Bushings etc are all metal, I once read.
Finally, the blade size is great as well, nicely in between the typical 3 (typical EDC length) and 4 inches (already quite big for EDC in the taste of many people).

The Böker Titan Defender and its barely lighter Lightweight brother are Böker's high performing top of the range knives. They are as dependable as anything from anyone.

^^^:thumbup:^^^. I'll second that! Yes, the washers on both are phospher-bronze.

I appreciate your feedback too Dagon :)

Meanwhile I received it. It's as solid as I remembered it from the Böker shop. I have many knives and yet it's my first canvas micarta handled knife. The texture is nice.
