First off, hello, newly registered but long time lurker. If I posted this in the wrong area, sorry. Just trying to find info.
I walked into a second hand shop and traded some worthless junk for a knife just like the one below. My knife and sheath are in just as good condition. The knife blade says AG Russell 2002 on one side and the other side says AUS-8 Made in Japan.
I emailed AG Russell and all they could tell me was this model knife was made a short time, they didnt know how many were made and didn't know who made them.
I am hoping someone on here might know something about them and are they good quality? Really curious about who made them.
Thanks

Not a bad deal for you! Looks like a decent knife.
Enjoy it!

Thank you for the replies. It was a good deal for me, the stuff I traded I was going to throw away, I have no money tied up in the knife but plan to keep it. It seems really well made and feels solid.
Now I guess I will go see what I can find out about Tak Fakuta. That is the second time I have heard the name.

I own one of those. Bought it 12 or 14 years ago. I might be remembering incorrectly, but I think it was called a Camp Bowie. Quality seems good but the wood handle did shrink within the first few years I owned it, causing "ridges" where the scales meet the tang. It doesn't feel good in the hand anymore......
