I just got my thermite and I really like it but I heard the screws were loctited way to much and so I was super careful when I tried to take the screws out and yeah I couldn't so does anyone have any suggestions on how to do it without breaking it?

Struggling with it on my new 3880BLK. My regular Thermite was no problem, but on the new black one, they are STUCK. I've tried heating them up, enough that I had to use a rag to hold the knife, whatever loc-tite is in there, it is solid. I've half ruined the screw heads, and the tip on a Craftsman T6.

You might try a soldering iron. Just touch it to the screw for a few seconds and let it soften the loctite.

I ended up sending mine back to Kershaw and they took care of it since I ended up stripping the screw head...:-(

I probably won't do that because I live in canada and just shipping it there would cost 60+ dollars

I'm gonna have to send mine in I guess, I have tried everything and they will not even move the slightest bit. I've ruined 2 T6 drivers and now the screw heads are getting stripped out. I've even tried grasping the screw heads with small pliers, which has worked before on clip screws, but nothing, they will not move at all.

I really wish that makers, that design knives with reversible/removable pocket clips, would NOT put thread locking stuff on the screws at the factory, but leave it to us the final consumer to do, once we put the clip where we want it. :(
