Anyone know how to Traditional jig bone

I was just looking at another thread about epoxy and bone.

I have had a couple of old knives with brown jigged bone scales, and some that looks more like fake antlet.

Does onyone know how they did it in the old days.

The whole bit.
was a template used, and the typle of tools etc.

just been thinking about it lattley may be time to try something different.
