Anyone know if Mr. Shotty is still doing kydex?

I've sent him several emails in the last month hoping to procure some AH1 sheaths and firesteel loops for stocking stuffers, but no reply:confused: Tried him through his website and his BF account.

I'm sure he is a very busy person and I'm not trying to give him a hard time. Just wondering if I should continue trying to contact him or find someone else.

Thanks,
Nick

If I'm not mistaken I thought I read on their site that they were not taking custom orders at this time. I think they had Izula sheaths in stock though. I too would like to know of a good Kydex maker for some ESEE goodies so post up if you find one....

Edit: (Cricket Dave beat me by 1 1/2 mins)

He's still sitting on the toilet on the bat cave waiting for the phone to ring.

I don't want to speak for him but I wouldn't be surprised of custom orders were just overwhelming and a loss of money. I'd estimate the average custom kydex order to take around 10 e-mails which takes time in and of itself plus the time to ship out, etc. all on top of the actual craftsmanship which may or may not work out the first try. It adds up to a lot of work for such a low ticket item.

Making sheaths and then selling them as is would be the way to go in a perfect world.

Man, my ears were ringing.....

I don't recall getting any e-mails from you my friend but I've been having some e-mail issues that I thought were sorted out, guess I was wrong.

As of right now, I'm not doing any kydex work.

I'm in the middle of revamping my shop, making up alot of fixtures and jigs and trying to get my little processes all set up to make myself more productive.

Once I have that all situated, like Hoop said, I'll be making more sheaths but they'll be more mass produced and less custom. Same quality but less variation and less of the custom hassles. It got to the point of being overwhelming doing them on a special order, custom basis.

They'll also be sold via the ESEE website instead of my personal site. (I haven't told Jeff that part yet.:D)

I'll let everyone know when all this takes place and I'm producing again.

Thanks for your interest, I really do appreciate it.

We're right there with you brother man. Anytime you are ready then you have web space.

Bummer I was hoping to order one of those awesome ah1 sheaths from you. Can't wait to see you up and running again you do amazing work!

Kinda figured it was something like that Shotgunner.

Mass produced is ok by me. I like what I've seen so far. I'll have to keep an eye on the ESEE site for your stuff (as if I'm not on there everyday already:rolleyes:).

If you go to the "Sheaths and Such" forum you will find Marion David Poff. He makes amazing quality sheaths and has almost every ESEE knife on hand. His prices are great and he will reply by email usually on the same day.

Cheers

There are quite a few good sheath makers here on the forum. Hoopster makes fantastic sheaths for a few of the ESEE offerings as well.

I accually have some Hoopster kydex on its way to me as we speak for a ZT0121 that I picked up on the exchange.

We will never get any Shotty Sheaths to put up on our seb site becasue he never gets out of the bat cave!
