Anyone know if the blade from a Benchmade 805 will fit in the handle of a 710?.

I was just curious about this. Does anyone know if the blade from a benchmade 805 would fit in the handle of a benchmade 710?. I love both knives, but I think it would be cool to have the blade without a recurve in the 710 frame.
I know the blade lengths are close, but Im not sure about the thickness.
If anyone could photoshop the 805 blade into a 710 frame that would be great as well.

Unlikely. I havent tried it but I own both and the 805 blade is larger than the 710 blade. One of the neat things about the 710 is how close the pivot is to the edge of the handle--it lets a large blade fit into a smaller handle

I think you are going to get the chance to find out. :)

As I recall from my 710, the blade is thicker and wider than the 805. It might leave some edge exposed if you can get it in - might have to change out the wider spacers and maybe the pivot.

Cool. Thanks for the info guys, maybe Benchmade could do a run of 710's without the recurve for those people like me that have difficulty sharpening them.

Yes, because the bladestock on the two is different (.110" vs. .125", IIRC)

even if the tang of the blades are same dimensions, you have to take account of the blade shape too....like in close position, will the blade touch the backspacer etc.....i would rather get a custom handle made for the 805 blade instead of swapping them.
