Anyone know if the Leatherman Wave new-old can be disarm using normal security bits?

I want to tear it apart to be cleaned, I dont want to send it back!

You need 5-point security torx. I don't think 6 point would work. Many here have found such bits on ebay, and you can buy them here if you are qualified.

If you just need to clean, a toothbrush and dish-soap with a good rinse and mabye compressed air to blow the gunk out should get you there...

P.S. If you want a tool made to be user modified/cleaned, the SOG PowerLock or other SOG multis are the way to go.

You can also get them from snapon's webstore without qualifications. Go to buy1.snapon.com and search for part number TTXR10TPE2

The ones that Snap-on is selling are 5 or 6 points, Leatherman is 5 point.
Hmm. You may be mistaken about that. I ordered that exact part number from Snap-On and it fits my LM Wave perfectly; 5 points with a center post.

Thank you very much I will order the same part (Stock#: TTXR10TPE2) your wave is the new or the old style?

Old style, but I've seen the new one and the screws seem to take the same bits.
